Sofa & upholstery cleaning in Calgary from Daily Cleaning

A sofa takes more daily abuse than anything else in the house. Body oils, dust, spilled food, pet hair, plus the smell you stop noticing until a guest walks in. We clean sofas and upholstery across Calgary, from a single armchair to a full sectional, using hot water extraction that lifts the buildup out of the padding instead of moving it around.

Before & after

Drag the slider to compare. Stains like these get pre-treated first, then the dirt is pulled out of the fabric instead of being smeared around on top of it.

Before After

"No two sofas are in the same shape when we get there. The fabric, how old the stains are, how worn the seat is, all of it changes what we do. We pick the method that suits the material and then push it as far as it can safely go."

— Daily Cleaning team

Just about every home in Calgary has upholstered furniture of some kind. We clean straight sofas (2-seater and 3-seater), corner sofas in an L-shape, U-shape sofas, modular sectionals and loveseats, in the fabrics people actually have at home, microfiber and velvet included.

The sofa is where the whole family ends up: kids, guests, and usually the dog or the cat as well. Somebody knocks over a glass, food goes down between the cushions, and the mark stays there. It happens in every house, ours included.

Grease, dust and pet hair work their way down into the fabric and the padding underneath. On the surface the sofa can still look presentable while all of that keeps collecting inside. That is where the smell comes from, and it is also why an old spot comes back as a ring once the fabric gets damp. In the trade that is called wicking: the residue travels back up the fibers as they dry.

Why professional sofa cleaning matters

Most people start with the vacuum. It lifts the loose dust off the top, and that is about as far as it goes. Whatever has soaked into the fibers and the foam stays exactly where it is, because a vacuum has nothing to flush it out with.

Daily Cleaning does sofa cleaning in Calgary with commercial extraction equipment and solutions made for upholstery. The dirt sitting deep in the padding is the part we are after, not the layer you can already see.

How we clean your sofa

We start with a solution that breaks down organic soil and stains inside the fabric, and give it a few minutes to do its work. Then the machine rinses the upholstery and pulls the water straight back out, carrying the loosened dirt with it. That second step is what reaches the buildup underneath rather than the visible marks alone.

Every piece gets its own settings, chosen by the fabric and the shape it is in.

The sofa will still feel slightly damp when we leave. Most pieces are dry in 8–10 hours; in a cool or humid room it can stretch to a full 24. An open window or a fan running nearby speeds that up noticeably.

Why people book us for upholstery

The right method for the fabric

We check what the upholstery actually is before we touch it. Microfiber, velvet, chenille and a plain woven weave each want a different product, a different amount of water and a different tool.

Safe, low-odor products

Our solutions clean well without leaving a heavy chemical smell in the room afterwards. That matters in a house with kids, pets or anyone who reacts to strong scents.

Attention to the real touch points

Armrests, headrests, seams and the front edge of the seat hold the most buildup, because that is where hands and heads land. Those areas get the extra passes.

How it works

1
Pick a time. Send us the date and time that work for you. We reply quickly, and there is no long back-and-forth to get it booked.
2
We check the piece. Material, stains, how worn it is. If something needs careful handling, you hear about it before we start, not afterwards.
3
Clean and refresh. Spot treatment on the problem areas first, then the full clean. Drying depends on the fabric and the airflow, but most sofas are usable the same day.

Frequently asked questions — Calgary sofa & upholstery cleaning

How is sofa and upholstery cleaning different from carpet cleaning?

The tools are smaller, the moisture is kept lower, and the products are matched to the fabric in front of us. Cushions, seams and armrests also hold dirt differently than carpet pile does, because most of what goes into them is body oil rather than soil tracked in from outside. We set the process by material instead of running everything the same way.

What sofa fabrics can you clean in Calgary?

Microfiber, velvet, chenille, linen blends and ordinary woven upholstery all get hot water extraction with upholstery-safe solutions. Leather is the one thing we do not take on, so if your sofa is leather we will say so up front rather than experiment on it. We look at the piece on site and explain what we plan to do before we start.

How long after cleaning until we can use the sofa?

Most pieces are fine to use the same day, once the surface feels dry to the touch, which is usually 4 to 8 hours depending on the fabric, the humidity and how much air moves through the room. Thick velvet and heavily padded seats sit at the longer end of that range. Try to keep heavy use off the piece until it is dry all the way through.

Can professional cleaning remove pet odor from a couch?

Usually yes, and often by a long way, because the smell comes from residue sitting in the fabric and the cushioning and extraction takes that residue out. If urine has soaked right through into the inner fill, one visit may not be enough, and in the worst cases the only real fix is new cushion inserts. We tell you which situation you are in once we have seen it.

What is included in a standard sofa cleaning service?

An inspection first, spot treatment on the marks that need it, odor treatment if there is a smell to deal with, then hot water extraction with upholstery-safe products. Sectionals and chaise lounges take longer, so those are priced by size and layout. Let us know the number of seats and pieces when you book.

Is steam cleaning safe for my upholstery fabric?

For most household fabrics, yes, as long as the temperature, the chemistry and the extraction are right. Delicate or vintage pieces get a gentler method instead. If the care tag says dry-clean only, mention it when you book and we will tell you honestly whether we should be touching it at all.
